I have an old pc that i didnt use for a long time and now i installed windows 7 ultimate 32 bit and there was no connection i reinstalled the windows again couple of times but still the same when i troubleshoot it it says ''windows did not detect a properly installed network adapter'' i restarted the modem and i changed ethernet cabels but still nothing. any help?

Solution
Did you install an LAN (Ethernet) driver that is compatible with the card or board that has the adapter? Windows 7 will not install a driver for that component in most cases.

you have to download the appropiate driver from the motherboards website. i know this may sound stupid unless you have another PC in the house. once you have downloaded it on to the other pc transfer it via memory stick to the new one and load it up i have had to do this before is it a Realtek lan card because they are the ones that usually give issues. or you can find your ethernet type by navigating to

Control Panel\Hardware and Sound then manage devices then network adapters and then google on the other pc whatever name it is, for me i would have to google "intel gigabit 82..... driver" and then all you need to do is install it.
