That often comes from spoiling the laptop as a child. Then they grow up with no respect and start to hang out with the wrong crowd trying different Linux installations in their hard drives, before moving on eventually to the hard core stuff like FreeBSD and BeOS. At that point you just have to send them to jail to teach them a lesson.
Although some good laptops can get viruses that make them just act bad for a while.
