Dell Inspiron 6000, Battery charges ok, but the computer shows no battery present.

The computer ran fine on a new battery for two weeks then suddenly stopped working on battery power. It runs fine on AC power and the battery shows very good and fully charged. There is an icon with an AC plug symbol that when right clicked says no battery present. The battery is not a Dell battery.

The battery is probably faulty. I'd suggest you to contact the supplier.

And next time buy original Dell Accessories :p

I used a meter to check the battery, it shows 12.2V, The laptop will not power on with the battery only. AC power up is ok.
