Hello
I want to update my Ram on my computer to 12GB to improve the performance with certain games. I built my computer back in 2010 (Specs below) and haven't really looked at updating it until recently where I bought a GTX 970 graphics card, so my lingo is not really up to date. My computer has 3 sticks of 2 GB RAM (obviously totaling 6GB) in one channel of the motherboard. The questions I have so that I find the right RAM are:

    1) What is the maximum size a single RAM stick can be for my LGA1366 motherboard? Is it 4gb per stick or 8gb?

2)Since all I find online is dual channel ram (2 sticks) could I add it to my motherboard with my triple channel and it still work?

    3) Is it Ok to add RAM made by a different manufacture or same manufacture different model in the second memory channel? Is it even possible to do due what I ask in question 2 with different memory?

This will help me on if I need to buy all new memory or if I can just add some to the existing memory. Thanks
