Hi all. Hope you are having a wonderful (or at least tolerable?) day today.
My question is this. As of late, I have been attempting to launch Rome 2: Total War from the Total War homepage (if you know what that is, can clarify if needed). I launch the game, and after about 3 seconds I get the error message "Rome 2: Total War Has Stopped Working". This frustrates me as I was able to play this same game not two months ago.
I don't get any loading screens or anything of the sort.
Additionally, I have tried the obvious and frequently mentioned fix, that is, deleting the Rome 2 data folder, and setting the DirectX related preference in the preference script to false instead of true. However, I do not have a preferences script. It simply is not there. Needless to say that fix hasn't worked for me because I can't attempt it in the first place.
My hardware specs are as follows:
Intel i5 4690 CPU
EVGA GTX 760 GPU
8GB DDR3 RAM (1600, CAS 9 I believe)
Gigabyte GA-H97-D3H mobo
1 x WD RED 1tb 2.5" HDD
1 x SeaGate 500GB 2.5" HDD (empty atm)
EVGA Bronze 600w PSU
I should mention that I have verified the integrity of the game files via Steam twice, and they both came back as verified, and that I have uninstalled and reinstalled the game via Steam twice as well. Nothing has changed, same error, same timing, etc.
Thanks for any help!
