I am making this threat for people to assist me with building my computer and also to share it with other who needs help.

This is my build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/mNLJRB ----- my CPU is the AMD 8320

Here are my problems:

1. The CPU stock cooler came with thermal paste pre-applied. I stick that cooler onto my CPU. Then I realize I had an EVO 212 aftermarket cooler that I bought. I pulled the stock cooler off the CPU, only to realize that it is so hard to put the evo 212 into my motherboard. So I gave up. My problem is I was too lazy and did not have alcohol to clean the paste off. I just applied the thermal paste that came with the EVO onto the existing thermal paste. Then my friend said bad idea, wash it off. So I wiped it off with just bathroom tissues. and reapplied thermal paste. There were some thermal paste that leaked onto the side, I could not completely get rid of it. I don't want to touch it anymore, what should I do?

2. I had problem pushing the ram into the motherboard. Seems like I had to put it in on one side first. Problem is solved

3. I do not know which cables go into where. There is a bunch of cables that came with the box,and I do not know what cables go in where. I do not want to read the manual because I have reading disabilities if I read too much lol.

4. My stupid mother board did not come with screws, so I ordered some from Newegg, so this would be a good time to prepare for wiring. Help please~!!!!

1. Try using some paper towel to wipe it off the side of the CPU (I presume). It would be best to get some isopropyl alcohol to rub the rest of the residue off and reapply fresh new thermal paste from the CM Hyper 212 Evo in a small pea in the middle of the CPU method. You do not need much thermal paste as it will spread out when installing the CPU cooler ontop (the TIM on the CPU is right at the middle aswell, it doesn't take the whole surface).

3. If you are talking about everything, here are some steps(all of these cables should come off PSU) :
1) Plug in the CPU 4/8Pin to the CPU power in the top area of the motherboard
2) Plug in the 20/24 Pin connector to the motherboard's 20/24Pin
3) Plug in your hard drive will a SATA Power cable and a SATA cable (if you look at the edge of it, they both have L shapes the bigger one being the power)

4) If you have a graphics card, plug the required 1x6Pin PCI power and 1x8Pin PCI power to it.
5) For the front panel USB and sound, you will need to plug them to ports at the bottom of the motherboard (USB and audio should be written on cable and motherboard)
6) Finally, the front panel lights and power, you will need to refer to your manual about that, sorry bud :/

Hope I was able to help out.
edit: Added picture and forgot audio. Audio front panel is around that area.
Also, if USB in front is 3.0, plug in into the blue port near your motherboard 24. (USB3_34)

This is great! Thank you so much with sharing this.

There a bunch of cables to be plugged in. I think it would be best to breadboard the system to start with.

This means connecting the cables and starting it up outside the case to ensure everything goes properly. It will be easier to debug.

The motherboard needs two power connections, the 20+4 pin connector for the main power and the 8 pin connector.

Thne you can start on the cables from the case. Can you see where the power connectors go?

You don't want to use alcohol if you can possibly help it. If you have a Home Depot or other home improvement store close by, pick up a container of orange degreaser, it's much more powerful than rubbing alcohol and can get even the stickiest of thermal compounds removed. Use carefully though.

3. I do not know which cables go into where. There is a bunch of cables that came with the box,and I do not know what cables go in where. I do not want to read the manual because I have reading disabilities if I read too much lol.

Need a bit more information to go on here. What kind of cables are we talking about? SATA cables can only be inserted into one area of the motherboard, as is the motherboard voltage connector and the CPU power connector.

4. My stupid mother board did not come with screws, so I ordered some from Newegg, so this would be a good time to prepare for wiring. Help please~!!!!

Motherboards usually don't come with screws, those are provided by the manufacturer of your case. Usually you get a box or a big bag that comes with all the screws and cable ties you need.

Well my case didn't come with screws either. Here are the the wires i need to connect to my front panel. IDK what to do. Power LED +, Power LED -, Reset SW, Power SW, H.D.D LED, HD Audio, USB 3.0. i am confused because there a lot of points and some have extra holes and if i connect the wrong place it will blow up

what if i don't wipe the paste off? will it break my cpu? There only a little bit and i am sure its dried up by now

That would only happen if you have an extremely poor quality power supply. If you hook the case wires into the motherboard incorrectly, your system just won't power on. Most of the time on current motherboards which way your case wires are plugged in is usually marked on the motherboard, and it's rather easy to read which cable goes where. If not your motherboard's instruction manual will tell you which case wires go where. The HD audio ports and USB 3.0 ports are usually pretty clearly marked, and can only be inserted on the motherboard one way, and they're pretty hard to screw up.

No that won't affect your CPU at all. As long as you don't bend any pins on the CPU or the motherboard you're fine. Intel CPUs are pretty impossible to damage. AMD CPUs can only be damaged if the pins are bent.

One thing at a time.

1. The USB3 from the case plugs into the blue header in the center bottom of the board, just to the left of the main power connector. The header has a slot in the bottom side and the plug has a raised key that fits in the slot so that the plug will go in only one way. It may require a little pushing.

2. The front pane connectors. Power LED +, Power LED -, Reset SW, Power SW, H.D.D LED, all go into a single header. Your motherboard should have come with a manual which shows how all those little plugs fit together. On my motherboard (not the same model as yours) the On/Off and Reset plugs fit in one direction and the two LED plugs fit at right angles and the header has on unused pin. There is no pin at all in the last position.

TheDualshock has labeled the location of the front panel header on the photo above.

Okay. My screws came today and monitor is on vehicle today. so i will try to hook everything up by tonight if i can. I saw that in my box on the motherboard there is a bunch of extra pieces. do i need to hook those up as well?

okay thanks. I will try that tonight. My motherboard came with extra pieces, do I need to hook those up as well? Also what do I do with the power supply. It also have a lot of cables it came with also extra pieces. where do and how do i hook those up?

Depends on what motherboard you purchased and what came with it.

What do you have plugged in so far?

The motherboard will need two connections from the PSU, the big 24 pin main power at the bottom of the board and the other 8 pin CPU connector at the top right.

The Metal I/O dust shield needs to be popped into place before the motherboard is installed. It fits into its space from the inside the case.

Atm i only plugged the two case fans onto the motherboard, where it saids fan. The io shield is in place. Once i get home, i will pop those front panel connection in and get back to you guys. I think i am getting too far ahead of myself

So I don't know what those 2 pieces are. Am I suppose to hook them up? Also for the front panel connector. I don't have the 4 pin connector for audio. It didn't come with the case, is it okay to leave those 4 pins out? Or do I need it? I don't have it though. Also for the cpu power thingy. There is 8 holes, but I can only connect one into the connector because it is shaped weird. I can't put the other one in. Is one okay?

WTF MY PC IS NOT RUNNNING. IS THE BATTERY BROKING OR DID I CONNECT IN SOMETHING WRONG. ONLY THE MOTHERBOARD LIGHT UP GREEN.

The monitor I have has this vga cable. my pc only have an hdmi. i connect the hdmi to the monitor and it said no vga whatever. Does that mean this monitor wont work with my pc?

Really? Pretty much any motherboard manufactured after 2009 has USB 2.0 on it standard. Even my $40 MSI H81 motherboard has USB 2.0 on it.

No it does have a slot for the USB 2.0. I mean I don't have the USB 2.0 cable. do I need it? and my laptop isn't turning on help

HOLY <removed>!!!! I TOOK OUT THE EPU PLUG, AND EVERYTHING TURNED ON. DO I NEED THIS EPU THINGY? I was reading around and this guy with the same problem with me. The EPU had 8 holes and he only had 1 connector with 4 holes ( I have 2 connectors each with 4 holes but the other connector won't fit). So he took out the EPU and it turn on.

So what do I do with this EPU thingy? http://postimg.org/image/xpyypgz13/

You must have forgot to plug in the CPU power connector or the voltage connector.

THe EPU connector consists of two four pin plugs that fit together to make a single 8 in plug. To get them to fit easily/properly, you need to slip the two parts of the plug together before you try to put them in the socket.

Somewhere in the manual or motherboard box there will be a list of the parts supplied so that you can tell what the unknown bits are.

Have you plugged the USB 3.0 cable from your case into the USB 3.0 header on your motherboard.?

What do you mean when you say that you do not have USB 2.0? There are USB 2.0 sockets on the back of your motherboard.

My 2x4pin epu connector won't fit because the epu connector are too fat. See the picture closely because it sticks out inside so when you put them together it won't touch. The only way it would work is 1x8 pin epu connector. Which does not include in the box, how will this work?

For 2.0 usb, i mean. I have a socket for both uab 2.0 and usb 3.0. I have a wire for 3.0 but not 2.0. I saw a video that i neeed both, is that true or is just 3.0 plugged in okay.
