Its been awhile since I've been on the forum! Which is probably good news, however it's time for a memory upgrade and I have run into some trouble. Here is what I have and what I have done. any advice or thoughts would be appreciated.

I have a p5e3 deluxe w/wifi mobo. with a q6600 processor (however I have a used q9650 coming that I am going to put into it hopefully). When the system originally was built (in 2007) it ran gskill 9-9-9-24 (2x 1gb) ddr3-1333 (f3-10600cl9d). I upgraded the ram in 2010 to gskill 8-8-8-21 (2x2gb) ddr3-1333 (f3-10600.....). It has been a solid stable system and now I am wanted to upgrade the ram again. I purchased some kingston valueram from ebay (kvr133303k2/4gr) ddr3-1333 cl9 (2 kits of 2x2gb total 8gb). I was just going to completely replace the ram and upgrade to 8 gb as per specs of my mobo. When I put the new ram in everything seems to power up in the case (fans, hd, mobo), but it's like it gets to the ram and just sits there. the screens do not come on and the system doesn't post in any way. I removed the CMOS battery and left it unplugged for a minute, plugged everything back in and the same thing happened. I made sure the voltage was set right at 1.5v (it was on auto before). I took out two of them so it was just like before with only the two orange slots filled and I tried changing the order of the ram, still nothing. After contacting the original owner of the ram I found out it was pulled from a p5e3 pro board. a mem test was ran on it before it was pulled and it worked fine. I have now ordered the exact gskill 8-8-8-21 kit from newegg (that I currently have in it) and will just add it in when it gets here (not sure why I didn't try doing that first)...and hopefully it will work. But it is making me crazy as to why the kingston ram isn't working, I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work and if the ram was bad I would think I would have got some beeping from the motherboard. I am nervous that just adding one more kit of the same ram isn't going to work either, but we will see. Any thoughts or ideas as to the problem with the kingston ram would be appreciated. I want to find out if it works because if it does I think i will just resell it, if the new gskill ram works fine (since I think the gskill is better ram anyways). Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated. Thanks!

Have you tried reinstalling the old ram that was in your system prior to adding the kingston ram? See if it will boot with the old ram. If so, there may be an issue with the new (used) ram you got from ebay. Not saying the seller intentionally sent you bad ram, but just because someone said it tested good doesn't mean it's true. Maybe it did, maybe it didn't. Maybe they grabbed the wrong ram sticks and sent them to you. Maybe something happened in the mail. Too many variables to know at this point. It would be interesting to see if the new ram you bought (new gskill) works. Sometimes motherboards with 4 slots will have issues running all 4, but not usually.
