Noob Builds Gaming PC for budget! HELP :)

Solution

You do get the preview "forever" but you should really invest in a full OS, it makes everything run and it is your UI after all... Ask your friends, cousins, uncles, your whole family line... You'll probably find someone willing to share their windows with you. Though there is also Christmas and Birthdays :)

CPU: AMD FX-8370 4.0GHz 8-Core Processor ($164.99 @ NCIX US)

Thanks for the reply, the thing is I was dead set on Intel.. Is AMD worth the switch? I also can buy the i5-4690K for 180$.
I also plan on recording, which would be better?

and I never thought about buying a monitor on boxing day, thanks for the suggestion.

I also have a microcenter store near me, which usually have really good deals on CPUs.

Deals on parts picker is usually cheapest, but it won't hurt to check if it'll save you a couple bucks :)

The FX 8370 would handle itself better in Video Editing and Game play recording, those 8 cores really help in tasks where you need to multi-task. The i5 will still be up to the task but the 8370 will offer more performance. It depends what you would like more performance or have a better upgrade path to get more performance down the road?

Fail on my part. I would possible upgrade the hard drive and the CPU cooler. Not sure if the Graphics Card is bottlenecking the i7 though.
