Okay so this only happens with this particular game (Wakfu). I am connected with an ethernet cable so no wireless business.
Any time I pick a server to play on I lose my internet connection for about 30 seconds. Their support is absolutely useless so I figured I'd ask if anyone here knows a fix.
My drivers are up to date so they're not the problem either.
The thing is that I can sometimes connect, play for around 10 seconds before my internet breaks again.

You lose connection to the game, or your entire Internet connection goes down (i.e. even a web browser does not work)?

If you're only losing connection to the game, then my guess would be that it's a port forwarding problem. The game server is sending info back to your computer, your router doesn't know where on your network to send it to so discards them. The game dies because it's not getting the info it needs from the server. Some quick googling says the game uses port 5556, so make sure that is forwarded to your computer. (They also suggest forwarding ports 80, 443, and 8080, but if you do that then web browsing and remote desktop will break for anyone else on your network.)

If your entire network connection is going down, that's pretty remarkable. A game shouldn't be messing with your network connection at all. It's possible the game or another program has set up your computer to connect to the Internet through a proxy. There are legitimate reasons for doing this (hiding your IP address is one), but if you didn't know your Internet was coming through a proxy it's possible some malware set it up that way so it could snoop all your network data. Getting the game running would be a secondary concern then.

Just to eliminate any local problems, try assigning your computer a static IP address (you'll have to do that anyway for port forwarding). That would eliminate any DHCP flakiness going on on your network.

Well it's not really either of that, I lose network connection on the computer where I try to play the game. Browsers don't work either, it's basically ~30 seconds of no internet and other devices can go on it just fine. It also doesn't show any change in the little pictogram on the taskbar.

I'll try the static IP thing, for as far as I understand it
