I have had black screen crashes for 8 months when playing certain games on my computer. This is the error in the Event Log:

My specs (I know it's not great; it's a family PC):
prebuilt HPE 1160t
1TB HDD
8 Gbs RAM
Nvidia GT530
Intel i7 2600k
Junk power supply ~300W

I have tried everything software-wise, and it used to run monster games so I do not believe it is a software issue. Also scoured the internet. I have narrowed it to either: faulty/low wattage PSU, faulty/overheated GPU, power problems relating to power strip. Any ideas?

Try this, it might work.
First of all you need to TOTALLY remove all the old drivers. Use this link.
http://www.wagnardmobile.com/DDU/
Note:
Select the respective company(i.e Nvidia or ATI) drivers to be uninstalled.
Use clean and restart option.
And then install the new drivers after rebooting.

Or get a Corsair CX430w PSU.

I have had my fair share of viruses from the internet, so I just wanted to make sure: is this site safe? I have never heard of "Wagnard Mobile" and I'm not sure why I would need it to uninstall things. I don't know if this changes anything, but I did uninstall all Nvidia drivers via the Control Panel.

The site I gave are the creators of that application, so it is safe. And Guru3D also uploaded it on their site simply as another link but the latest version can be downloaded from my link anytime :)

Thanks! Sorry for the slight confusion, but since I uninstalled the drivers via control panel, I just have to install these, correct? I don't know if it has anything to do with the drivers in the Device Manager

I did not get a Blue Screen Of Death, rather I got a "black" screen of death. My monitor goes black then notifies me that it does not have any input. I have all the minidumps, but for some reason it gives me an "Access denied" for minidumps since the beginning of the month.

I will use it and clean out Nvidia drivers right now, then reinstall latest from Nvidia website.

I uninstalled and reinstalled drivers, but it didn't work. Got the exact same crash.
