So, earlier today I was going to clean my heatsink (it's the stock one) and for some reason I felt the need to undo the plastic screw things so I herd a kind of crackling click sound once for each of the 4 "screws". I assume I fucked the thermal compound up because my temperatures are now sky high compared to earlier, When I also had a heatsink pretty much half of it was full of dust.

My question is, Is there any thermal compound that you would recommend or that's especially good?
Thank you.

I personally use Arctic Silver Arctic Alumina, its like $8, if you didn't clean the original paste off and re-apply new paste it's likely there's a multitude of air bubbles that're between the heatsink and the paste. also check to make your sure screws are mounting correctly that the pressure is evenly applied everywhere.
