Hey, I have an AMD FX-8320 and a HYPER 212 EVO. I ran Prime95 for a little under 2 hours, and my CPU temp peaked at 52 Celsius. It idles at around 24 C.

My question is: Are these good temps? I want to know if my cooling is adequate, and if I need to get any more case fans.

Solution

Thats great, i hope that you get a decent overclock on that chip.
Sounds like you are good if that temp is under full load. If you want a little cooler temps, your evo should have included brackets for a second 120mm fan so you can use push pull config. That might be a way too pull temps slightly lower. 62 might be safe, but i would not want to run at that temp full time.

Right now, I just use the motherboard throttling to put it at 3.7 when under load. I will OC it when I notice a problem with preformance. I ran it at 4.2 for a while, but noticed no significant improvement in my gaming.
