Hello Tom's,
if you have expertise or similar experience with this kinda of problem, please enlighten me.
Mobo: Asus z97 Deluxe
CPU: I7-4790K
Win8.1 pro
I got my Plextor M6E 512gb m.2 2280 setup a few days ago. Runs perfectly fine as a boot drive with UEFI bootloader. I followed this article

Now I have two Intel 730series SSD 480gb and trying to set them as on-board raid 0.
i followed these steps that I used to do
1. went into BIOS and enable Intel Rapid Storage Technology which turn SATA Mode to Raid.
2. save/exit, after BIOS post, Control+I to set up raid volume, exit

The problem is after passing the BIOS post, I hit bluescreen and then auto-restart, the bluescreen only last for a second and says there's a problem of my pc.
Is there any chance that I can keep UEFI boot and still raid them on-board? or should I look into software raid. As for me, RAID Card can't do since I am planning to add a second dedicated gpu in the future that way I have no gen3 lanes left for cpu.

note: I tried to set the bios back to default which use Legacy boot, this problem is solved, however, I would lose the premium boot speed.

Solution

hey thanks for the advice, I just figured it out a few hours ago.

I needed to reinstall boot drive, and update bios. Found something easier than the work around I had to deal with.
So this is solution for UEFI Win8.1 on a PCIe Based SSD(Plextor M6E) at M.2 slot on Asus Z97 Deluxe.
While having RAID and Non-RAID sata drives.

1. update bios to the latest version or at least to the bios supports UEFI raid.
2. Load default in UEFI, save and exit, reboot to UEFI, shut down the system
3. *Disconnect any drives except for your desired raid drives.
4. Enter UEFI, set SATA Mode to RAID, save and exit, it will reboot to the Intel RAID setup page, press Ctrl+I to config...

5. After creating RAID volume, then return to UEFI, shutdown.
6. Plug back whatever else drive you have. Then remember to config booting option and other storage specifics.
