Sales up this christmas?

Does it seem like computer hardware sales are really high this year to anyone else? I've noticed a lot of prices have crept up a little bit, and more popular hardware has been selling out. What does everyone else think? I've been following computer hardware for over 10 years now, and it does seem like somewhat of an upwards swing to me.

EDIT: I am in Canada and have just been watching NCIX, Newegg.ca, and Canada computers mostly. I've noticed that the prices in Socket 1150 motherboards, certain models of Nvidia cards(eg GTX770), and Intel i5 and i7 K edition chips have seemed to increase, but AMD FX chips, and motherboards have declined, and so have AMD Video cards. I guess it's just the way the market works, but seeing a GTX 770 priced at mid 300's and a r9 290x at below 300 seems really odd to me. Most GTX 970's are over $400 as well.

Some websites are now charging almost $300 in Canada for the i5 4690k, and over $400 for the i7 4790k. That's not even including shipping or tax either. Motherboards that were sub $150 are close to $200 now as well.

Exactly, like I mean it's not only that they are charging $250+ for a GTX 760. The regular price before rebates is saying well over $300. Just look at this: http://www.ncix.com/detail/asus-geforce-gtx-770-1110mhz-5d-84874.htm That's nuts. There is no way that the regular price on a GTX 770 should be $399.99. It's been under $350 for the last 6 months or so.

Here is another example: http://www.ncix.com/detail/msi-z97-gaming-5-atx-4d-97043-1360.htm When this board released almost a year ago it was reviewed and released at the 149.99 mark, and now they say regular $189.99.

This one is kinda EXTREME(you will get the pun here) http://www.extreme-pc.ca/showproduct.asp?productid=380922&menu1id=12&menu2id=90&menu3id=34 LOL :p

Maybe all the younger gamers from 5+ years ago all of a sudden realized that the PC is where it's at, lol. I mean, the consoles ARE both upscaled right, lol. Hopefully we start to see a bigger push towards PC gaming because of this. I know when the end of the 360 and PS3's life cycle was getting near a fair amount of my buddies on xb live built gaming PC's instead of waiting to get an XBone. There were quite an amount of people I knew that had both anyway as well.

1) Actually, GTX 760 would've been sold for ~$160 at regular price on certain online websites, . So you suprised me with the $300 regular. And also, online it's $250 for 1 GTX 770.

2) Really?! That's gotta be crazy! You can already buy a EVGA FTW...

3) xD Get an i7.

Yeah I'm just on a little rant because I plan to upgrade this Christmas, and a month ago I had all the hardware picked out that I wanted. The CPU and motherboard together in a combo with free shipping that I wanted was at $369.99, but I said naw I will wait till black Friday. Now that same combo is 449.99 +tax+shipping, so over $500. Makes me a little bit angry, and I am kicking myself for waiting. Lesson learned I suppose, never trust marketing, lol.
