Hello, I am having trouble setting up a 3 monitor system with dual CrossfireX ready MSI R9 270 graphics cards each with 2x-DVI, 1x-HDMI, 1x-DP. I have two monitors connected to the first card, one HDMI and the other DVI. Then on the second card I have a projector connected via VGA cable with a DVI converter. The system only allows two displays active at a time.

Full System Specs:

CPU: AMD FX-8350 4.0ghz
MOBO: Asus m5A97 R2.0
RAM: 1x Viper DDR3 8GB
GPU: 2x AMD Radeon R9 270 2GB (one made by Micro-Star / the other by Asus)

I would assume I can run up to four displays at least with this setup, correct me if I am wrong.
Also does anyone know of a good active DP adapter for sale?
Thanks!

When doing a triple monitor setup, there are only two clocks shared between DVI, HDMI, and VGA. This means you can only use 2 of any combination of those three connections. This means you need to use a display port to connect to a monitor. I used a display port to vga adapter off ebay from china. Make sure the adapter is ACTIVE if you go that route.

Even if you have two separate graphics cards?
