I will preface this stating that I have looked thru an exhaustive amount of posts and blogs on this matter and simply put Ive just had troubles following the various methods detailed out in other peoples posts. Im just hoping that talking one-on-one about MY system will make it easier to follow the advice given.

When building my computer I bought myself a small SSD for the soul purpose of putting my OS on it (Win7 Home Premium) and really nothing else.

I got a 3TB HDD for purposes of installing things like Steam and my Digital Art programs onto; also saving pictures, documents, videos, etc (ya know user file stuff)

Unfortunately over the past few months ive only ever been able to more or less manually save pictures and documents on the HDD (more or less drag and drop) and now my SSD is nearly full because I could not make them install to the HDD usually do to various reasons tho the obvious one being that the HDD wasnt set up to be anything more than a root drive and has no space (or rather pathways???) alloted for user files and system programs....

I hope that makes sense---

my go to blog post for a while was this one ( http://lifehacker.com/5467758/move-the-users-directory-in-windows-7 ) as it claims to have all the results i need but I cannot for the life of me follow all of the steps without feeling like theres constantly steps missing in between the next step and the prior.

Thank you for the incredibly straight-forward answer and the matter-of-fact post that went more in depth and more importantly just gettn down to the point of why the other methods whould just be ignored; I definitely understand now!
