So I've built this computer 5 years ago and now I've noticed FPS lag when I play DotA2 and sometimes it may end up crashing on me with the screen going black, keyboard and mouse going unresponsive, when I press a caplock keys the light won't even light up. This would stay like this for 1 minute or so before giving me the error that the AMD driver was not responding. I've looked up this problem and assumed that the video card is overheating on me.
This is the only game that gives me this problem, I also play CS:GO, Guild Wars 1 and Ultra Street Fighter 4, pretty much only games I play none of these give me the same problem, only other time is if I have Guild Wars + a movie on my second monitor. I also use an HDMI to my TV and noticed that some scenes would be not as smooth/lowered FPS.
Here's the specs of the computer when I bought it in 2010. I would probably sell this without hard drive if I were to buy a new computer so it would be helpful to know the value today. I was wondering how much would I need to spend in order to make an upgrade actually worthwhile. My budget is around $1000 give or take though is fairly flexible. I haven't really kept up to date with what's new so I don't know how much computer is compared to the stuff out now. Also I live in Canada so prices are gonna be more expensive.
