i5 4590 vs i5 4440 vs fx 8320

I want to upgrade my pc but idk which cpu i should get. if im going to get intel cpu i will not upgrade but if i get the 8320 i wanna overclock it to 4.0, 4.2 or 4.5. and also what would be the difference between 990fx and 990x? i want to get as much performance out of for the buck

You are better off to just get the 4440 for $170, with a $100 z97 motherboard instead of trying to get an 8320 and overclock it. The only upgrade you could get from an 8320 is the 8350 (which would be pointless) or the 8370. You have to have an expensive motherboard to use the 9370 or the 9590.

But with Intel, you can upgrade to a "K" series CPU, and do some overclocking on your $100 z97 board. And if for gaming, the 4440 will last you at least a year and a half to two years before you want to upgrade. And even a year from now, the i5 4690k and the i7 4790k will be cheaper.

However, AMD did say they are making all new FX CPU's codenamed "Zen" by early 2016. I'm assuming they will be on the AM3+ socket, but I don't know this for sure...
