Okay, I think the problem is, you don't understand what the figure 1089 at game debate means. It's just their way to tell you how powerful your cards is. I don't think they thought it trough, because instead of giving you performance figures, they confused you.
Don't believe numbers like that in the future, especially if no one else if using them to compare performance.
Just trust your old GPU-Z buddy, or even better, the actual website for your graphics card.

Can you explain your question any further?
I understand that game debate has written down 1280 shaders, but you think your particular GPU has less?
Why would you think that, and where have you gotten your figures (1089) from?

1089? They would be an even number. Always. No one is going to place one misc shader somewhere. If GPUz says 1280, then I'd go by that. I've never hid my "dislike" for sites like gamedebate or CPUboss. They only look at raw specs and not actual results, and as you just found out they don't always get the raw specs right.

Read the last sentence of my reply. They are wrong.

Edit: If you look at the hyperlink of 1280, you'll read that they are giving you a "projected" number of 1089. It's their way of putting all the cards on a similar scale. This is pointless and will quickly get out of hand as more card architectures show up. (VLIW5, VLIW 4, GCN 1.0, 2.0, etc.) It's supposed to help you compare cards with different internals, but I'm certain it won't help for long.
