Have you made sure that on-board graphics are Disabled in the BIOS? Also make sure that no components are touching the case in area's they shouldn't. If this fails have you tried a different HDMI cable?

install up to date nvidia driver, from www.nvidia.com

I mentioned this as on my old system I also had trouble getting my sound to work through HDMI from the GPU. To make it work I had to disable my Onboard graphics.
