need help selecting good sound system

i have a pioneer sx-311r receiver running 8-16ohm impedance 250 watt. two speakers at an 8ohm impedance 200 watt max. I just need to know if one is to much for the other or not.

Your receiver is rated at 70 watts per channel at 8 ohms so you don't have too much power but you might have too little. If you got that 250 watt figure from the back of the receiver that is amount the receiver draws from the wall not the amount it puts out.
