I currently have the choice between Cat 5e or Cat 6e that I'll be using for online gaming. The 6e is just a little bit more expensive than the 5e. Note that my internet is slow as hell at only 3mbs. I will also only be using 20m of the cable. Will I need Cat 6e or will the 5e be enough?

It will make absolutely no difference. The only difference between the cables is that cat6 will have a plastic spline in it.

It's also 120MB/second capable, and I assume you mean 3MB/second so it's 40X faster than you need.
FYI that's about 4X faster then I get so be happy (unless you mean 3Mb/second).
(I have a WDMYCLOUD which manages to read/write at about 90MB/second max to my PC which is about the fastest device I've seen on a local home network.)

CAT 5e is more than adequate, and you will not outgrow it anytime soon.
