Hi, i have a Lenovo G700 Laptop with 4GM RAM. I started to play some games, which require better parameters and my 4GB RAM is already not enough, so i would like to change it for two 4GB cards or one 8GB card. I was reading a lot of posts about this problem, but there was always dual channel motherboard. Since my motherboard is single channel, im not sure which option is better.
My actual RAM is working on 800MHz frequency.

So my question are... Should i buy 2x4GB RAM or 1x8GB RAM for single channel motherboard?
Will be RAM, which is working on 1600MHz frequency, doing well, or do I have to buy 800MHz agin?

Here is what CPU-Z says about my memory, but im not sure it that Single Channel means my card or my motherboard :) Im not that good at IT yet :) http://

I´m sorry, that you will have to download this 29kb picture, if you´ll want to see it, but i didn´t find better option to share that picture.
Thaks for answeres :)

Solution
Since your laptop does support dual channel memory, and you already have a 4gb module in the laptop, I would suggest buying a single 4gb ram so you can run in dual channel for a total of 8gb ram.

You have to buy 1600 DDR 3 sodimm. Your ram is indeed working on 800 mhz, but it is DDR (=double data rate) so it is 1600 mhz.

If i will buy 1600MHz DDR3, it will adapt to 800MHz, am I wrong? So wouldn´t it be wasting of another 800MHz?

No, the laptop ram is running at 1600 mhz. I think you get your ram speed from CPU-Z?
In any case, the Lenovo G700 has 1600 mhz ddr3 ram:

I have another question :D Do i have to buy RAM from the same manufacturer, or it doesn´t matter?
