Hello all,

I would like to upgrade my PC to be able to run high end games on ultra/high graphics. I have been playing Dragon Age Inquisition, however right now, my computer can't seem to handle more than "medium" settings.

Current PC set up:

-Motherboard: MSI 2AE0 (P0), Chipset Vendor AMD, Chipset Model A55/A60M/A88 FCH, Voltage +3.3V 3.312 V
-CPU: AMD A10-5700 APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics (4 CPUs), ~3.4GHz
-RAM: 12.0GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 798MHz
-GPU: 2048MB ATI AMD Radeon R7 200 Series

I don't know much about hardware, so I have been researching on the web, and reading these forums, trying to gather as much information as possible. I would like to have good frame rate, and run graphic heavy games on high settings.

Initially I thought I'd have to upgrade my CPU and RAM, as most recommend at least CPU 3.5 GHz speed and 16 GB RAM. However, then I read CPU isn't as important as graphic card (when it comes to gaming), so now I'm a little confused as to what to upgrade first. I bought my graphics card last year, so I wonder if it's worth upgrading it again so soon. I would appreciate any feedback/advice you can give me.

Thank you very much in advance!

That's why I mentioned 280 - the 280X is a bit higher end and might bottleneck, 280 should be fine - but if going higher and looking to a CPU/mobo upgrade in the near future then suggested a 290 which can be carried forward to the new CPU/mobo, believe you mentioned the 280X

Thank you very much for your response!

What video card would be a good upgrade? (to play games at high settings). Ideally, I don't want to spend more than $200, but not sure if this is enough for a decent upgrade.

If I get a new video card, do I still need to upgrade my CPU and motherboard?

Any suggestions would be very appreciated. Many thanks in advance!

Thank you very much for your replies! You have no idea how helpful this has been.

So, if I get a R9 280 or 290, can I keep my current CPU and motherboard, and still have high gaming performance?

-Motherboard: MSI 2AE0 (P0), Chipset Vendor AMD, Chipset Model A55/A60M/A88 FCH, Voltage +3.3V 3.312 V
-CPU: AMD A10-5700 APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics (4 CPUs), ~3.4GHz

Just want to double check before I go ahead and buy these. Thank you so much once again!
