For some reason my TV won't display anything even though my HDMI cord is connected. I tried going to "screen resolution" and changing the displays but it doesn't work. I'm thinking it might be a compatibility issue with this specific TV and my laptop because my laptop works fine with other TVs. My TV is a Sharp LC-26SH12U and my laptop is an MSI GP60.
