Hi, just built a pc with watercooling (first time watercooling) and the pump is working and making a noise like swirling water but no water is moving round the loop. It worked at first then I got a leak, fixed leak then problem started. The loop goes res/pump-rad-cpu-rad-gpu-res/pump. I have the res full so it isn't the water level. I don't get that the outtake on the res is at the top when i've seen the water drop right down on the same one in videos. How does it pull iwater out once it has gone past the outtake? The outtake is near the top!

Any help on the no water movement would be appreciated been on this build for about 20 hours all together. It's one problem after another with the cooling components and it's doing my bstard head in!

Cheers

Sorry sussed it there was too much air in the radiator after the res. I'd had a leak on one of the fittings on the rad and tipped water to one side when I put it back together the water was gone from where is it was!

Are you going from the out of the res to the input of the Pump? That is the only order of the water cooling loop that matters. And how are you determining that no water is moving? And if no air is moving, stop turning on the pump. To run a DC motor "dry" you will ruin it quickly.

Thanks but i'd already said i'd sorted it i edited it about 10 minutes after posting!

The pump and res are joined together so the output of the res is the output of the pump when i put res/pump that's what i meant.
Common sense told me there was no water moving because the loop was about a quarter full and the water level in the res (full) wasn't going down and when water did start moving i could see about a zillion bubbles flying round the loop. I could hear the pump swirling water inside the res so i knew it wasn't running dry.
And the fact i'm sat here with a nice cool running computer with bright lights and glowing tubes tells me i did something right. Although my pubes have gone grey and i had a nightmare about tubes and screws, a slow motion nightmare where you never seem to get anywhere!
