Hi guys! I recently purchased a Samsung 840 evo 500gb SSD. To my surprise, the "installation guide" pamphlet which I usually don't look at is telling me to hook it up as a USB first and run some kind of software CD this came with...
I'm not planning on using this as my boot drive I have one already. I just wanted more space for running software from. My PC doesn't have a CD/DVD drive and I most certainly don't have one of these "Sata to USB" connectors.
Do I really need to do all that stuff? My last SSD (Intel) I just plugged in the Sata and PSU cables and was ready to go! --
Problem: drive isn't showing up on my computer.
