I'm building a new PC with a i7-4790k and a GTX 970. I accidentally shorted the old motherboard on my desktop and have been using my laptop since. I don't want to spend more money on a new power supply if I don't have to and the one I got previously was top of the line. There's no chance that using my old PSU would be a risk is there?

This was the mobo that got shorted: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813188024
This is the PSU I have: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817153053

Thanks for your time!

That PSU is good and sufficient for ur needs but as bezell said its an old PSU if you can spend on PSU why not get a better one like Seasonic or Corsair GS series
