I've been having problems with Windows 7 Ultimate, 32 bit, and have been reading recently that there's a bug in the Windows 7 system (corrupt file or something). Can anyone advise me how to fix it? I'd appreciate any help you can give me. Thanks.

Phillip, I appreciate the advice. I ran the Microsoft system file checker. The scan didn't find any integrity violations. So I still have a problem: the antivirus program won't update. There's no conflicting virus software in the computer. What should I do next?
