Hi there, my CPU temps are running a bit high after a a year and a bit of having my PC, so i'd like to clear the dust out of my heatsink and reapply thermal paste, but i've not found any good guides as to how to remove/put back in the stock cooler for the FX-4100? Does anybody have any personal experience with this CPU and have any tips? Thanks - Sam

Solution
Before you try re-applying the thermal paste, if the temperatures now are higher than they were a year ago, simply try using compressed air to blow the dust out of the fins of the heatsink and off the fans. Then test again.

In my experience if thermal past has been applied correctly (very thin) it's seldom necessary to ever apply it again.
