Ive found both builds at the same price and thats my limit as far as money is concerned so basically i need advice as i will pruchase one or the other begining of january.

Build 1
i5 4570
gtx 760 DDR5 2gb
8gb ram 1333mhz
msi h81m-e33 uatx motherboard
1 tb hdd

Build 2
i5 4690
r9 270x DDR5 2gb
8gb DDR3 ram 1600mhz
msi h81m-e33 uatx motherboard

you could also get an i5 4460 and spend a little bit more on a r9 280, this will give you better gaming performance.

as for performance. both builds are pretty close to each other. It depends on the game which one will have a slight edge over the other. generaly a gtx 760 is just that little bit better though

I say build 2. The 270x managed to edge out the 760 in the fairly recent R9 285 review. Faster CPU, and faster ram, in the second build as well.

personally I'd take a 500-550 watt PSU to get a bit more headroom, but 450 should work just fine.

I do like the sound of the r9 270x with 4690 and higher ram speed (though I've heard there's not that Mich difference. I don't think I could push the boat with the r9 280x because I need to buy a decent monitor too.
to be honest I'm not really bothered about gaming in ultra (it would be a bonus) so if I could game at medium or high comfortably (because to me at those setting it still looks better than an Xbox one ps4) then that would make me happy. Games like witcher 2 and 3, dragon age inquisition, bf4, cod ghosts, batman games, shadows of mordor, alien isolation on medium or high comfortably would suit me fine. Then I could get a decent monitor.
who knows if the r9 280x goes down in January sales i would get that.
so with the above info would you recvomend 4690 with r9 270x?
next year I could upgrade it surely? The graphics card side of things.
