Recently Buffalo LinkStation 421NAS setup and started transferring data and noticed that speeds were super slow.

So far max speeds for me were 2.5mbps and smths go as low as 100kb and for that matter sometimes hit 0.

No idea whats going on and would appreciate some help or ways to fix it and im also also new to this NAS thing so i would really appreciate all ur help!

Solution
it's probably your home plug ethernet adapter that is causing the issue, their speeds vary greatly depending on quality and line issues. I would try wireless or run an ethernet cable. Wireless will probably cap at around 5mbps at that distance though....

A few other things, are you using a switch or a router in-between the two systems and what nic do you have on your computer? Try using another computer and connecting directly to the NAS to eliminate the other variables.

Nas is connected to router but my computer is on a separate floor so I use a home plug to a socket that allows wired connection to my computer..... Was transferring file worth 30gb speed was only 100kbs very frustrating
