I bought the mboard brand new, what I want to know is will a AMD FX-6300 run on the mboard straight out of the box? After I ordered and payed for the parts I read something about needing to update the bios if it previously had a cpu installed I'm kinda confused how does a mboard need a update if it's new and say for instance you don't have a older cpu to flash it? Box for mboard says Am3+ ready

I did notice a sticker on the box after posting saying ( supports am3+ cpu with new bios (b2 stepping ready) seems to be a new model board last machine I built was in 2006 times have changed drastically, thanks for the reply I appreciate it, I'll try Google what b2 stepping is on that sticker unless you would know that too:)?

msi 760gm-p21 Rev B2 's bios(7641vH6) with FX-6 series cpu only support FX-6200,that would need bios update.(FX 6300 need 7641vHB bios)

maybe you should return that board and go to buy 970A-G43 or G46,OR you can RMA that board,RMA would be save your money.
