What kind of gaming can i expect from the 7870 LE Tahiti?

as the name suggest, what can i expect?

i'm pairing it with the following:

32" Full HD TV
8GB DDR3 RAM
AMD 760k 4x3.8 (OC 4.1)

what kind of performance can i expect? is it possible to max games out on 1600x900 (i know i said i have a full hd tv but 1600x900 is sufficient for me)?

P.S. To evade the "get the X card for the Y $..." posts the card will be given to me by a friend who no longer needs it as he's upgrading his GPU. So i'm not actually "buying" a card so there is no budget.

At 1080p, the Athlon X4 760K @ 4.1 GHz and HD 7870 should be able to allow you high in-game settings with most modern games at smooth frame rates. Can't guarantee a certain frame rate, but it will game smoothly. Of course, lowering the resolution to 1600x900 will make a small but noticeable difference.
Multiplayer on a busy server with lots of other players will be the hardest on the 760K, but single player should be very smooth.

appreciate the answer, that's exactly what i was looking for. i don't mind having X FPS if the game runs smoothly. also i don't play MP games on the PC, that's what the PS is there for. :)

My main concerns were, the following games:

AC: Unity
NBA 2k15
DA:I
GTA V (not planning to play online as i have it on PS)
