R290X problems with any amd catalyst past 14.4

Any catalyst suite I install past 14.4 gives me major issues. I have been running two monitors at 1440p each on DVI and another on an active display port with no problems at all. I recently upgraded to the latest driver, and now all screens go crazy when my DP is powered. If I unplug the usb cord( for its power) then my other two screens look normal.

Has anyone else had this issue? Am I stuck with 14.4 forever?

What make/model is your PSU (power supply)? Also, does this happen with only a single display attached?

Are you overclocking anything (CPU, GPU, memory)? What are your CPU and GPU operating temperatures at idle and under load?

This doesn't happen with only a single display attached. Temps never go over 70C under load, 48 idle. Nothing is overclocked ATM. Like I said, this only happens with drivers past 14.4.

Also, I tried using an HDMI to DVI rather than using the Display Port, all 3 monitors work, but not at full resolution. This is driving me crazy.

On another note, I was able to make every monitor 2560x1440P when not in eyefinity mode(so each screen was exactly the same), but when I put it into eyefinity it only goes to 7040x1440p. At this point I think I'm going back to 14.4 even with its bugs.

Nothing at all. The only thing that seems to cause this is the driver update. I'm trying to google solutions, but it isn't much help. At this point I'm tempted to do away with AMD and go over to NVIDIA.

This often happens due to heat and/or power issues, thus the earlier questions. This could also be the result of a failing GPU. The processing load to stretch an image over 3 displays is greater than just cloning 3 identical images.

Often, more current drivers can more fully enable GPU features (possible more heat and power consumption). Not saying this is the case in your situation.

Does the system display properly with 1 DVI and 1 DP attached? How about with just the DP?

Could also be the active DP adapter has gone wonky. Do you have another to test with?

Well that is interesting, it works just fine with just the DP or 1 DVI and 1 DP- just not when all three are plugged in.

I doubt it's a failing GPU, while that is possible, whenever I revert back to the 14.4 software everything works just fine.

I'm getting closer and closer to just buying new NVIDIA cards. I got a new DP adapter, tried installing the new drivers, and it still wouldn't work. I rolled back to my old drivers, but now my DP screen flickers no matter which DP adapter I use. It seems everything is software related unfortunately. Thanks AMD.
