Psu fried or whole computer?

I went to turn on my computer last night and a spark went shooting out the back. Now there is no green light on the motherboard. Is there any way for me to know if it's the whole computer or just the Psu? Would like to know before I buy anything.

If you have a spare PSU lying sround somewhere then put that one in and see if it will work. If the the computer doesn't turn on then you will unfortunately need a new computer.

Most likely it's just the PSU. No green light on the motherboard indicates that the PSU's +5Vsb circuit is dead.

Next question. Would it fry a new Psu IF it is the motherboard?

What is the brand and model of the failed PSU? It may be able to provide an indication of what failed.
