A while ago my laptop started acting weird. BSODs and forced CHKDSK runs were among the symptoms. After a while I decided to reïnstall Windows, which seemed to solve the problem. However, the issues returned after installing and syncing my Dropbox account. Thus I concluded that the fault was in my Dropbox folder, and reïnstalled Windows. Once again, the problems seemed solved. However, they have returned, and now I get the message that Windows is unable to boot due to an 0xc0000009 error. It says that an external storage devices has been disconnected causing corruption in Windows files. However, I have not used my external harddisk, only my USB which shouldn't cause problems for a system32 folder (this would be really weird to me at least).
Am I right in thinking that these problems are caused by hardware failure?
