Hello all,

I built my own PC about 4 months ago. Specs:

AMD FX8350 CPU
ASUS M5A99FX R2.0 Motherboard
XFX R9 270x GPU
1TB HDD
64GB SSD
Corsair 750m Power Supply

Since I built it, it has intermittently stopped sending a signal to my monitor. The monitor does not report that it is no longer receiving a signal, rather it simply displays a black screen (not as if it were off, the back-light is remains on). Shortly after the screen turns off, any audio I have going (such as music playing) will stop as well, playing a single stuttering tone of whatever note it played last. It continues in this state until I reboot the computer. The PC no longer seems to take input from the keyboard or mouse (though I cannot see the screen to tell, regardless).

To solve the issue I tried many things. I checked to make sure all the drivers were up to date. I checked the GPU's connection to the PCIe slot. It is my next troubleshooting step that brings me to my current issue. I gave my computer a hard reset; turning it off, flipping the power supply switch off, unplugging the power supply, and removing the CMOS battery for several minutes. Then I put everything back and booted it up.

So far, the monitor losing input has not occurred again, but it is too soon to tell if the problem is resolved, as it occurs so randomly, sometimes within the same few hours, sometimes not for days.

But, ever since rebooting my PC after the hard reset, I could not get on the internet through my Ethernet port. I tried re-installing the drivers for the Realtek Ethernet Adapter, but each time I try, it successfully installs the drivers, but reports that "The Realtek Network Controller was not found. If in Deep Sleep Mode is enabled Please Plug the Cable." Problem is, I couldn't disable Deep Sleep Mode if I wanted to, because under Device Manager, the Realtek Network Controller doesn't even show up.

I checked the BIOS and it is most definitely enabled. I tried another hard reset, and that also didn't work. Anyone have any clues about what the issue could be and how I may resolve it? I would prefer to explore all my options before resorting to contacting ASUS about a replacement motherboard. Thanks.

P.S. - I am currently using the same computer. I am on the internet using a backup USB Wireless Network Adapter I have.
