I have the Nvidia MSI GTX 770 Lightning and I bought the Nvidia MSI GTX 970 Gaming. Is is possible to use both cards at the same time? I know they are different model, but they are from the same brand and both support SLI.
Even if you had note monitors I would just attach them to the 970. If you really want to still use the 770 just dedicate it to physx in nvidia control panel. But there really isn't much point
You can have them both installed in the system, but not for SLI. All you can do is dedicate the 770 to PhysX or use it to drive additional monitors. It has no other gaming applications.

So, it will not work for videos editing, rendering, internet browsing and gaming? It only works to send energy to another monitor?
You might be able to choose which graphics processor you want each program to run on, and dedicate the 770 to physx in games that support it, or run more monitors. But you cannot SLI the two.
I do think planegeek's right, depending on the programs you use you may be able to offload the work if you have the option to select a different GPU. Other than that, I'm not aware of any other practical applications for mixed-GPU setups. A 770 (especially a Lightning) is pretty huge overkill for a PhysX card, even with my SLI 780s I only use a 750Ti and it works very well and can keep up.

I use Vegas Pro for video editing. I use Cinema 4D for modeling 3D objects.
