Hi, I'm building my first PC for gaming. I'm mainly looking to play games like Skyrim on at least high and GTAV on medium at least, preferably high without going out of budget. What do you guys think of the parts I have picked out and would you say they're compatible?

Solution

Yup, thats a good choice.

That power supply is no-good, pick one from this list instead: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/id-1804779/power-supply-unit-tier-list.html

GPU is fine, but I would check if you can get an R9 270x instead for less money.

Would maybe consider an aftermarket cooler and a 60GB SSD reserved for windows. If you have more money left in your budget at this point, getting a another slightly larger SSD (like 120gb) reserved for the games you play most frequently would also be a good idea, this will demolish loading times in skyrim and other games.

PS, ask yourself: do you really need an optical drive? most games are downloaded via Steam or equivalent web shops nowdays. I personally haven't used an optical drive in years,

That PSU is no good either. I get that you are trying to save money, but the PSU is not a component that you want to try and save money on. A bad PSU can give you a really really bad time in the future. If your budget limits you I would rather go for an AMD FX-6300 CPU and a power supply from Tier 2 or Tier 3 of the list I posted above. Your PSU is meant to last you longer than your CPU and your GPU, so it's arguably the part that is most worthy of your money.
