Hello everyone,

I have been playing far cry 4 for a couple of days and everything was running smooth.
But sinds today I am facing a big issue: normally I run the game at 60 fps (capped) but sinds today when after loading a checkpoint my frames drop to 5 fps and the SSD light starts blinking like crazy to the point that it almost just keeps lit up. this lasts for like 10 seconds until my frames go back up to 45 and the game is still laggy then after half a minute its stable again with 60 fps.
Like I said its happening after loading a checkpoint but every now and then it happens randomly also. It happens when playing online but also offline so my connection isn't the problem. Because the ssd light starts blinking like no tomorrow it can be a storage problem but I cant see how because I have a SSD thats 2 months old with still 96 gig of free space. So does anybody know what is causing this problem?
my specs:

-Asus B85M-G
-i7 4790K
-MSI GTX 770 twin frozr 2gb
-Corsair CX600
-8 gig ram

Solution
Download the Samsung SSD 840 EVO Performance Restoration Software:

http://www.samsung.com/global/business/semiconductor/minisite/SSD/global/html/support/downloads.html

Samsung released a new firmware and performance restoration software package for the 840 EVO and 840 EVO mSATA. The firmware update is recommended to users who may have experienced any drop in performance of the mentioned drives. Running the software packages provided will first update the firmware(840 EVO : EXT0CB6Q, 840 EVO mSATA : EXT42B6Q), then scan and calibrate all existing data on the drive.

Note that the update time can be more than an hour depending on the amount of data. Please wait for the firmware update to complete before starting any other operations...

I looked at task manager but nothing special there. Other then that, I used the msi gaming app to overclock my GPU and when I don't use it the lag is much less but its still there. still weird because I used the msi app sinds I started playing FC4 but the lag started today. So I still have no clue.

While you are at it update the Samsung SSD Magician. A new version was just released two days ago.
