SLI GTX 760 or wait for GTX 970?

Should I buy another GTX 760 in a few weeks, or wait a few months (porbably about 6 or more) and buy a GTX 970? Or further more, wait till the next series of cards comes out and buy something in the £260-£300 price range? As by the time I have enough money for a GTX 970, nvidia will probably be near releasing a new series of cards.

Another quick thing unrelated, I recieved an and old GTX 580 in the mail today from an uncle who no longer needs it, would I be able to stick it in my current rig and use it just for physx? and if so how much of a performance gain will that get me in games that use physx? (Like Arma 3 and Borderlands 2)

With the 900 series being recently released, if your budget doesn't allow you to upgrade until 6 months for a 970, just wait for the ti's or whatever else is next. Unless your PC needs the performance now, then get the 760 for SLI to keep doing whatever it is you do.

Sounds like a good idea. My PC doesn't exactly need the performance now so I can wait, as in the next few weeks in upgrading to an i7 4790k and new motherboard from my AMD FX 6300 which should certainly give me some more performance:)

Wish I could upgrade to the 970 now mate, strapped for cash so I'll have to wait a while to buy it.

Anyone think it'll go down a bit in price after christmas, or fall into any christmas sales?

Ah so I'll be waiting a while for any price drops then. I'll probably just wait till the ti's come out like you said or for next series, my wee 760 still holds out well for now:)

Unless you have a GTX 760 4Gb card, I would wait to upgrade to the GTX970 or other card when you can. Some newer games are going to start requiring more than 2GB to store game textures and so you might have the GPU performance, but not enough vRAM to store the textures. I had this dilemma with my GTX680 2GB. I waited for the 970's to come out rather than adding another GTX680 when I had the chance. Just my 2 cents on this.
