Need help in determining which of these two builds is better

Recently someone I know recommended me a build that contains a Core i5 4440, a Z87 motherboard, an R9 270x, 500w power supply, 2x4 GB RAM etc. I thought of another build which is similar but has a B85M motherboard and a GTX 970 but he said it wasn't good because I had a MicroATX motherboard which would allegedly decrease performance and wouldn't last. He also said that the R9 270x can already max out any game (not true, look at AC: Unity for example) and the GTX 970 would be a waste. So which is better? I think mine is, but still want an opinion from you guys.

Every PSU has different designs, but because this is a HIGH end PSU, it will probably draw from both rails.

The GPU, yes you can overclock, but don;t expect much improvement out of it. GPU overclocking rarely yields real results unless you flash the card's BIOS and get really crazy.

everyone here should be agreeing with tiny. the 970 is a high end card whereas the R9 270x is almost just a midrange card. if you check benchmarks with these cards, you will see that there is a huge gap between the two. so much so that there is no doubt in anyones mind.

everything else that tiny mentioned, as he put it, is "just the answer", and really is no need to get additional feedback as there really is none to provide.

Oh, I'm so sorry, didn't know about that. I just wanted to also know about durability as he told me the Z87 would be much better in that regard.

Core i5 4440 is the CPU, I'm gonna get a quality 500W PSU though I don't know which and an undecided case (does that even matter?)

The only Antec PSU I found is actually out of stock. I might have to order from Amazon or sometjing , might even turn out to be cheaper..
