Please help. Our school has a massive amount of dell mini 1012s that have an issue with bios.

Described here http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/laptop/f/3518/t/19242905

The keyword on the error we get is "warning The battery cannot be identified. This system will be unable to charge this battery press any key to continue".

I've reached the end of my expertise. From what I've gathered dell has a way to identify an OEM dell battery from aftermarket batteries but it seems even OEM dell batteries can fail to ID themselves to the PC. The batteries have been tested and are good.

The suggested solution is to downgrade to bios version a04. Suggested here

The brick wall I hit. The 1012s we have are made for sprint so the mobo is different. We don't need or use the sprint service. I've actually removed the SIM card reader and the wireless card. When I try and downgrade to anything bellow a11 I get the error "File has different BIOS part number" during the flash attempt.

Service tag is 6KM65Q1.
