hi all my motherboard is an old gigabyte GA-M52L-S3 HERE IS THE LINK OF SPECIFICATION : http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=2818#sp
i want to buy an 1tb hdd on 7200 rpm and speed is really important to me but i don't want spend to much i think my motherboard has 2 sata and i don't know which company and which model hdd should i buy and does my motherboard gonna support it or not so help me out.
and other problem is i want to use my old 250 gb hdd but both of my sata ports on motherboard used (one for maxtor hdd and other for dvd writer so i don't know what to do so please help me out) :(
does my motherboard could support 1TB WD10EZEX OR NOT ?

Solution
My choice ..

1. Hitachi
2. WD Blue
3. Toshiba
4. Seagate

Yes the WD10EZEX will work happily at SATA2 3Gb/s speeds.
Since motherboard only has 2 SATA connections and you want both HDD's connected, only choices ..

1. Don't use a DVD-RW.
2. Buy a DVDR-W to connect on the IDE connection.
3. USB DVD-RW.

Sata 3 is backwards compatible with Sata 2. The speed difference will be small if any on most drives. If you are ever considering an SSD then Sata 3 becomes almost mandatory.
However if you are lacking Sata ports as well then consider a new motherboard.

Das_stig's advice is great, and the wd10ezex will work just fine. If you want speed in a hard drive, the WD Black is the way to go without question, and WD makes reliable hard drives. Your mobo may not be able to take advantage of that speed, but it's still not a bad buy if you get a new mobo in the future.

If you want the most reliable HDD brand that will last the longest Hitachi is your best best, especially the Deskstar series. The downside is they are not particularly fast. I typically recommend the blue primarily for those who have or are planning on getting an SSD, or who will use their hard drive for everyday use rather than for performance-based use such as gaming. Here is an article to back up what I'm saying about reliability. Do yourself a favor and don't buy a Seagate.
