Alright so I am thinking of upgrading my gaming computer in the near future.

This has stemmed from a problem I had when switching over to my new case, I accidently bent the pins to my USB 3.0 connection on my motherboard. So here we go.

I'm looking to replace my motherboard, cpu, and eventually GPU.

My current motherboard is a:

MSI Z77A-G45

And my CPU is an intel i5-3570k

My GPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127745

Now I consider my hardware pretty high end though I know that theres better out there. I'm asking for 3 suggestions on each, being the cheaper upgrade, affordable upgrade, and higher end/expensive upgrade. So I have stuff to pick from.

for motherboards I am partial to MSI, ASUS, And Gigabyte.

I am an NVIDIA GPU man myself.

I also do have a question about the CPU. Is it really necessary to go up to an i7 or is most of the load on the graphics card when playing? All help is welcome and thanks in advance!!!

I dont think you will see a large performance gain out of any of the newer gen cpus for gaming. Your current build is still decent.

Do you have any suggestions for a motherboard? Since I kind of have to upgrade it soon as I dont have very many USB ports due to my pins being broken.

Or any for a GPU?

For the gpu I would reccomend a gtx 970 or 980, as for the mother board since they are on sale for 104$ after rebate the z97x killer asrock great motherboard for the price.

edit- as for 1155 mobo's I am not in the loop

With how many options there are on the market right now people tend to often not offer a piece of mind

That's quite unfortunate. Motherboards are one of the parts I'm often confused what to look for other than the socket compatible with my CPU
