Seeing the new article posting comparing the Kraken X61 to the Noctua NH-D15, which one would you reccomend?

I'm referring to this article in the title.

The X61 is really aesthetically pleasing, and apparently better, both in performance and noise, but which one would you reccomend? I'm looking to overclock my 2500k to 5.0ghz, and to have to some headroom if i want to upgrade to a better cpu and overclock that. Noise is a big factor, and I was thrown off by this benchmark but now that I see that the X61 can run quietly if the silent mode is turned on, I had second thoughts.

What are your guys' thoughts? X61 or NH-D15?

Forget the article if you can fit a 220 size radiator in your case get this when it comes back in stock.

Why?

The pump is moved from the CPU block to the Radiator, and it is one of the most powerful AIO pumps you can get.

The Reservoir is also radiator mounted and is see through and the system is expandable.

Comes with a complete stand alone Swiftech Apogee XL CPU water block.

You have to realize when Toms does a review they send out invitations to participate in the review and the products submitted are the products tested, but that is far from the best available!

I personally would not buy any of the products...
For air, the D-15 is hard to beat. As the article states - if the computer is moved at all, the stress on the mobo becomes a problem. I have used self contained liquid coolers in my last 3 builds - mainly because I like how the interior looks so much cleaner without a big bulky air cooler. My build before that used a D-15. If you have a good 2500k reaching 5.0Ghz is possible with either. I have my latest builds going 4.6Ghz on a Seidon 120M - I never hear them except for when my computers "wake up". D15s and Seidons also cost much less than the X61.

What do you think are the pros and cons to each cooler?

IMO, just pay the extra for the X61 and be done with it - chances are you've already splurged and grabbed the bigger CPU for OC, so what's another $50 for the x61 and then no stress about the dead weight hanging off the Mobo. There's also the Case heat to consider, one advantage of Liquid cooling systems that is almost always overlooked when comparing price and temp, is that the Radiator ports the heat directly out the case rather than dumping it in the Case and increasing the ambient around the other components such as the RAM and GFX - not to mention you still require other fans to evacuate the Heat as well. Smaller the case, bigger the problem can be. In the case of the D15, it's a big mother, it changes the entire airflow through the case.

Not saying it's a big problem, but say you have a GFX with some VRM sitting CPU side, you add more heat and thus limit the OC of the GFX - MSI GTX970 Gaming 4G is an example - depends if a few degrees bothers you I guess. AT the end of the day if you're extreme OC then you'll likely have a custom Liquid system anyway and it's moot.

I personally would not buy any of the products that review covers, especially with your 2500K overclocking plans.
