My CPU connector does not match the connection on my motherboard! help pls!

Looking at the keys of my cpu connector from my psu, It does not match the keys on the motherboard. It fits in but I'm not sure if its okay to do! please help.

What do you mean the keys do not match?
Its an 8 pin (4+4) EPS cable, theres only one place it can go, and all standard ATX boards accept ATX supplies.

I mean that the connector has some square edges and some rounded edges, which does not match the pattern on the motherboard.

Thats a good point to mention, there is a difference between the CPU and PCI cables. Make sure you know which it is.

Okay are you guys saying that even though they are slot on the motherboard and the 4+4 are keyed differently, its okay to use it?

The wiring layout is the same for both 12v connectors. The linked forum goes over that

From the 1st picture, I think you maybe mix up two cables. For the one on the left side, it is the cpu 4 pin cable, I am not sure the one on the right side.

The pcie cable has either 6 pin or 8 pin, and cpu atx ( or eps ) cable has either 4 pin or 8pin, and they look like cpu eps cable ( 4 square shapes) http://i.stack.imgur.com/kAhsw.jpg or http://www.frozencpu.com/images/products/main/ele-362.jpg and for the pcie cable ( 3 square shapes) http://legitreviews.com/images/reviews/2218/gigabyte-gtx770-power.jpg or https://www.moddiy.com/product_images/uploaded_images/8-pin-pcie-connector.jpg
Also you can check the cable, it should label either cpu or pcie on the cable too. http://fareastgizmos.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/03/Cables.jpg
