I'm having trouble figuring out what is wrong with my new PC build. I can boot to windows and run programs but the computer will shut down at random times. It doesn't seem to matter if it under load. I ran Prime95 and Furmark for about 20 minutes with no shutdowns. The tempature of the CPU stays around 14C at idle and the GPU is around 36C. I checked the volts and they are right where they should be.The computer gives no warning of the shutdown. The max amount of time I have had the computer running is about 45 minutes. I currently have it set up outside of the case with just enough to get it running. PSU, HDD, 1 stick of RAM, and the graphics card. Any ideas?

Hardware:

Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 rev 4
AMD Fx-8320
Coolermaster 212 EVO TX4
Corsair TX650 PSU
Gigabyte r9 290
Team Dark 2x8GB 1600Mhz
Seagate 2 TB HDD

does it shut down or does it bsod and shut down? Also you can check your event viewer from the control panel and look for kernel-power events-> note the time stamp and look for any applications errors (in the event viewer) with the same time stamp.

It shuts off without warning. No bsod. Their are critical errors in event viewer with the even id of 41. This also occurs if i leave the computer running in the bios so it cant be the OS. I tried the paperclip test on the PSU with the hdd and a fan attached. It would shut off within 45 min so i'm guessing that's my problem.
