Drive not booting - Reallocated Sector Count Error - too late? Toast?

Hi guys, to preempt your initial response find below a scan of the failing hard drive. Any info on how I can get it recognised so I can make a backup unless its already toast? =(

Computer suddenly started to hang at various stages during the 'fast boot' process around same time I noticed the drive went down. Once booted runs smoothly.

Hey oldskoolpro. That's very unfortunate. If you have a problem while booting, you could try connecting the drive externally to another computer with SATA to USB cable and try to recover your data. If it's not recognized I'd suggest that you go with Linux Live CD/USB to try and access the HDD and get any important data which you might have on it. Other than that, you could try with data recovery software, take a look at some of the solutions from this thread here: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/id-1644496/lost-data-recovery.html
And as a last resort (most reliable, but most expensive as well) you could go for a professional solution such as a data recovery company.
